Regeneration and adaptive reuse, combining sensitivity to architectural heritage and local context with modern design aesthetic and evolving trends. UNEXPECTED EXPERIENCES — Maintaining elements of what existed before, layered with new design, offers patrons multifaceted experiences, whilst allowing us to get creative with how to keep and reuse existing elements of a space. ADAPTIVE REUSE — A dynamic alternative to the common cineplex, The Projector revives a historic movie theatre as an independent creative platform that brings together the best of films, one-of-a-kind events, versatile spaces and delectable fare. Brought to life by a collaborative partnership between Pocket Projects, FARM, LUNA Films and Group Therapy, The Projector is not your average cinema. RESIDENTIAL REVISITED — When developing residential, we seek to create homes where residents can be creative with space and style. EXPERIMENTAL ELEMENTS — We are able to challenge traditional design-development conventions with edgy, experimental design while maintaining general functionality and comfort in our spaces. REAL REGENERATION — The shophouse typology provides a canvas for myriad creative solutions to different uses of space. Our first successful regeneration project maintains the spirit of the shophouse while driving interest and value through design and events. CREATIVE ENCLAVES — Transformation of a row of 1940s shophouses in Kuala Lumpur into a neighbourhood of well-designed small offices, retail, leisure and public spaces to host a community of handpicked tenants with similar outlooks and complementary businesses. Inspired by other creative enclaves in major cities, globally, The Row in KL will preserve, yet transform these shophouses to suit the spatial needs of small/ creative businesses, and be centred around a dramatic, flexible events space born out of the remains of an old nightclub, which will redefine the way tenants and the public use these spaces. WORKSPACE ENLIVENED — We believe people are more productive and happy when they are inspired by the places they work. The cubicle no longer applies. In our first project, spaces were designed to provide users with the flexibility of turning them into home offices. In our next project, we are developing creative working spaces and collaborative, well-designed working environments to be attractive to small business office tenants. SOCIAL SPACES — Successful developments are driven both by design and by adapting spaces to how people want to use them. Our developments re-look at traditional dichotomies of living and working spaces, and socialising and working spaces. We find that some of the most successful are those that adapt well to other uses during periods of vacancy, or even more generally. MODERN DESIGN — Spatial experience is key. We work with passionate (and ingenious) architects to develop contemporary, relevant spaces, while retaining the authenticity and unique quality of the buildings we work to regenerate. HERITAGE & AUTHENTICITY — We seek to refresh and rediscover, rather than redevelop. We love a clean, modern aesthetic, but we also love the story that old buildings have to tell, either from their original design and materials or their adaption over time. The Lorong 24A Shophouse Series infused such old buildings with a variety of modern designs, which set the stage for the next chapter in their story.
